- * Ribosomal protein L32e signature *
- ************************************
-
- A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
- on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:
-
- - Mammalian ribosomal protein L32 [1].
- - Drosophila ribosomal protein RP49 [2].
- - Trichoderma harzianum ribosomal protein L32 [3].
- - Halobacterium marismortui ribosomal protein HL5 [4].
- - A probable ribosomal protein (ORF D) from Methanococcus vannielii [5].
-
- These proteins have 135 to 240 amino-acid residues. As a signature pattern, we
- selected a stretch of about 20 residues located in the N-terminal part of
- these proteins.
-
- -Consensus pattern: F-x-R-x(4)-[KR]-x(2)-[KR]-[LIVM]-x(3)-W-R-[KR]-P-x-G
- -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL.
- -Other sequence(s) detected in SWISS-PROT: NONE.
- -Last update: June 1994 / Text revised.
